In The Absorbent Mind, Dr.
Montessori wrote, "The most important period of life is not the age of
university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age of
six. For that is the time when man's
intelligence itself, his greatest implement is being formed?".
Your young child has an absorbent mind
during the first six years of life, which helps him to soak up
information from the environment, learning through all his senses in the
most natural and delightful way. During this time, your child has formed
and shaped his early impressions about the world around him and developed
his intelligence eventually. Therefore, each and every early experience is
of vital importance which would have an impact on his future development.
There are sensitive periods
of intense fascination for learning a particular characteristic or skill,
such as languages, discipline, sharp senses, reading, and etc. It is
easier for the child to learn a particular skill during the corresponding
sensitive period than at any other time in his life. If he misses the good
timing, some of his potential may not be explored or fully developed.
Little Montessorian®
has aims to facilitate the child to develop to his full intellectual
capacity; to promote inborn motivation, creativity, and enjoyment in
learning; to train up a logical and analytical mind; and to help the child
become discipline, confident and independent. The Little Montessorian
Educational Toys are well-designed, that can be brought into our modern
homes today. Most of the toys has a function of "control of error" built
in, which give the child a clue to the correct way of doing the activity.
With simple step-by-step instruction, parents can make uses of these
materials to guide their children to learn the most important elements in
life in the early years.
